Docked at the Great Sacandaga Res. Live in Schenectady NY. Hello New Yorkers!

Greetings from Kingston NY where we do all of our boating on the Hudson River and Rondout Creek. Beautiful Catskill Mountains line the shores for a tremendous view.

Greetings from Oneida Lake. I have a boat that is up there, we use it whenever we go up there during the summer time from here in NC.

Greetings for Catskill, I dock in the Catskill Creek and spend most of my time a little north in Athens and Coxsackie.

hi all. lake erie boater here looking for some 1000 island advice. want to spend a week or so up there, leave the boat at a good marina (Oswego) and then catch up with it a few more times and then bring it home in sept.

if spirit moves me, may take it eventually to lake champlain. had a 260 da in my usaf days at plattsburgh in 90-91 and may try to do a pass in review of the old flying.boating grounds.

thought of clayton, alex bay, gananoque and kingston . any must see places, towns to go to?

thanks

Much further down the Hudson here. But I've been reading up on the Erie Canal and it looks like a fun trip. How long does it generally take from Lake Erie to the Hudson? I know you can't go over 10mph and i'm sure the locks take a bit of time to get through.

never made the erie canal trip but i read it can take 5 days.

went from plattsburgh to NYC and that took 3d. plattsburgh - whitehall - west point - NYC governors island.

if i was coming from hudson and wanted to do the erie canal, i would go to lake oneida and then onto oswego, try to play on Lake ONt and 1000 isalnds. if you contiue to Lake erie, you get to buffalo and then not much action at all on the east end of the lake and all you got is a lot of lock action to look forward to.

of course, once you get on lake erie and can make it to the west end to the islands and put-in bay .... well, then you entered the kingdom of adults gone wild and have found the #1 spot on the Great Lakes.

i got my boat in mich city in (south end of lake michigan) took it all the way to cleveland and the north channel and there is nothing like PIB.

Upstate NY

Greetings from Orchard Park NY - in the Buffalo area.

Regarding the questions about the Erie Canal, we ran it to the Hudson in 1999 en route to FL, then back in 2000. In late October, with very little traffic, it took 6 days from Buffalo to the Hudson. I've made many trips on the Canal since, and would recommend taking more time, if you can, in order to enjoy the trip. The hospitality offered at the various towns and villages is great, and the bridge and lock personnel couldn't be more helpful!
