I noticed over the weekend that the VesselView 502 for my Cummins QSB shows that the boat is in Neutral at all times. Even when clearly in gear and we're underway. Not sure if this is new or same as before. Any ideas?

When is the last time you updated the software? My VV703 display changed with one of my prior updates and the F-N-R indicator went away completely.

I haven't upgraded the software. At least not manually. I thought you had to do it via an SD card - can it self update?

I still have a Neutral indicator - but it always indicates neutral.

my vv7 thinks it is somehow 2010... I called mercury and it is a known bug. Can't update the date nor time, only the timezone... what a fantastic piece of hardware...

FYI, it's Simrad hardware. Not sure how much of the SW is from Mercury.

I find the OS difficult to use. Maybe that's why I've seen the VV being replaced with Raymarine units on newer boats.

Do you think a call to Simrad would be productive?

Good question - I wonder if they would support a "vessel view" version, or if that would be limited to Mercury / Cummins?
