Does anyone have another source besides Flounderpounder for the Vimar and Hafele, prices are very high on this stuff trying to make sure there isn't another option to replace these with satin over the gold before sending FP my money.

3 gang outlet covers and all the push lock drawer pulls.

Thanks Jamie

Imtra is the distributor. Call them direct.

I replaced my Hafele hardware by contacting a local cabinet supplier who was a Hafele distributor. I worked with Hafele to get the proper model numbers and they then put me in touch with that local retailer.

Thanks everyone, will make some phone calls and see if there is someone local that can purchase.

These are not cheap so i might try sanding down existing and painting.

I went with the plastic versions. They look fine, but they should - they still weren't cheap! I wish I had tried to paint the metal ones

OK, when I read the title to this thread "Vimar and Hafele" I thought maybe we'd picked up a German couple as new CSR members.

Then I read through it and was enlightened.

Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks. ;)

I painted my plates from gold to a brushed satin nickel. Looks a lot better. I bought replacement drawer pulls in satin.

I just sanded lightly spray primed and sprayed with a brushed Nickle spray. I didn't sand off all the gold just roughed it up. There isn't much wear on the switch plate. The paint doesn't get much abuse because the switch itself is so big.

So I just made the plunge today and ordered all the switch plates for my 3870, 15 of them, all the push button Hafele metal latches and bases, 32 of them, and the Mobella door handle sets, 3 of these. All of this is brushed nickel to replace the old brass equipment. It is a significant plunge, but will be worth it.

MM I have everything ready in cart, just gotta get the nerve to push the buy button. its going to be a boat dollar when I'm done. I am ordering gaskets for windows as well and they are not cheap either.

this weekend I'll take the plunge

The handsets were $172 each and I had 3 of them.

I just had every hole in the boat resealed with a couple of exceptions. It costs. But worth it. I did all 8 porthole windows and screens, so I get it.

I am painting the light trim rings with a highly rated brushed nickel look paint.

Great idea. I have been trying to figure out what I was going to do with those awful trim rings for the last year. Such an easy fix. Will be spraying mine this weekend. Now the million dollar question is how do you change the color of the thin gold metal trim pieces attached to the cabinets and upholstery.

I did a lot of research looking for a paint that mimicked brushed nickel. This was very well reviewed.
