That makes the property a better deal for a boater. Is it a hassle to get approval to build a dock now?

MM
The Corp of Engineers and the DEQ get involved with issuing permits for new construction and that is about what you would expect when dealing with government departments. Lots of forms to fill out but doable. Once you have something approved (4-5 months;fees not too high, but adding no value), you are good to go for any needed repairs. For example, when we needed to replace that broken piling, I just called a marine contractor I've used over many years, and he came right over. The old piling stump was removed and a new treated piling was installed without any discussions with the Corp or DEQ. Time to fix from the incident to a new piling was maybe 2 weeks. We have good contractors in the area, and competitive pricing.

It truly is a sweet place, I'm trying to determine if he has quest hookups and what the nightly slip rate is. LOL

MM
We have had many people stay in our guest slip over the years. The biggest is either a 55-58 foot Hatt sport fish, or a friend with a 46 Viking that is probably in the same overall length. We are limited by the 17 foot width to about that size. Water depth ranges from 5 feet at the front to 20 feet in the middle to all the way to end of the dock. Here is a 37 Silverton that visited.

Here is another guest shot. You would pay the same as they all pay.

Me too. Sbw1, do you have any 240 shore power?
Our friends with big boy boats either run their gennys or turn everything off except the fridges and the a/c in the master. We can handle those. How wide are you? 16 1/2' is about the limit. Same rate as M/M.

Beam is 15'9" or something like that IIRC. But I'll put it in a beam shrinker if it's too wide. :p

If I have to pay the same dock fees as MM I can't come. We all know he's filthy rich. I'm not in the same class so I'll have to pass.

Thanks anyway.

We'd take a trip over from Catawba Island!

I don't know if I would have a guest slip...sounds like you would end up with too many friends :)
maybe that's why you drive a two seater

I can offer you our special preseason slip rate coordinated with our in the water storage rate. Formula = overall length times your beam times your local cold storage rate per square foot divided by 2. Space is currently available in slips 112 and 113. This offer expires 4/15/2019.

The two seater is the loaner for slip guests. Included in the special preseason rate.

Sounds good! Thank you! My launch date is April 1st(weather permitting), so if we left on the 3rd we should be to the dock by April 8th or 9th at the latest. If we leave 1st thing in the morning on the 15th that would put us back in West Harbor by 20th or 21st at the latest. Perfect! Do you require a deposit? What is the cancellation policy?

Thanks again!

These guys are still going by our house on these snowy days. They earn their bucks this time of year, and we are fortunate to have a number of good choices for seawall and dock work.

SBW1, Love the 37C Silverton. I had the same boat before I got the 480DB. It was my first boat and it was a great boat for my wife and I to get introduced to boating. I would get pushed around once in a while from the wind while docking but nothing that wasn't too big of a concern. I learned a lot on that boat. From what I understand, my old 37C is up in the Saginaw Bay area, I always look for it when I am up in Lk Huron, but haven't found her yet.

Friend just sold this boat last year and bought a bigger Carver. He bought the 37 new and lived on it summers. Great layout, and built like a tank with big, thick stringers and lots of storage. It did sail a bit around the dock in a cross wind. Nice looking boat that held up well for many years.
