Vodka as anti-freeze

adding to the mix a little more ... Sealand/Dometic recommends against using alcohol based antifreeze in the vacu flush systems because of damage to rubber parts. If using the little more expensive Propylene antifreeze means I don't have to change duckbill valves quite as often then that's what I'm using.

Just takes a while to get all that Vodka out of the lines - and I have a hang over for days!!

Update
Only used Propylene glycol based pink. West Marine had it on sale for $4.99.
Used pink in the engines, 4 gallons per main engines and 2 gallons in the generator. Blue out the AC system with shop vac. Tried to get pink to pump through the system but could not get suction. Put pure food grade Propylene glycol in the watermaker. Blew out all the water lines and hot water tank with 40PSI from air compressor and disconnected the water lines into and out of the potable water pump. Pumped out holding tank and flushed 1 gallon of pink in each head. Pored about 1/2 gallon of pink in each sink. This is year 2 doing this will see in spring how we did.
It took me a day to do all this. Boat is stored on land for winter with four 100 watt heaters on all the time. Temperature can get to 20F for a few days in late December and January. Boat is in Anacortes Washington.

Try rigging a container and cheap hand pump so you can backfill the A/C with pink by hand pumping it in through the discharge on the side of the hull. Harbor Freight has cheap hand pumps and a visit to your favorite home improvement store will get you the cheap clear plastic hose and clamps to make it work. I did it that way for years on my old boat. Just pump until you see pink come out the intake on the bottom.
