Wanna buy a lighthouse?

I have been all the way around the Poe Reef Lighthouse a few years ago when we would take our old 220 Sundeck up on the inland waterways. I always said that it would be cool to have it and turn it into a Bed and Breakfast/Couples Retreat type hotel. I could see alot of people wanting to just hang out in the middle of the lake on a lighthouse and relax with no one else around.

Lead paint is definitely a huge problem if you plan on chewing the woodwork or not lying on the walls. LOL

The White Shoal Preservation Society is in the process of restoring the White Shoal Light. They have a restored USCG boat at the Mackinaw City marina to use as transportation to the light and are regularly hauling supplies out to the project. They are offering tours and stays at the light. I think those may have started or about to start. It looks like a huge undertaking. They have a Facebook page. Here's a recent photo from their page of a group of volunteers arriving at the light.
