I was looking on the internet to find information about Bravo III. I came across a company that offers remanufactured Bravo III. The thing that I have a question about is what is the difference between a Bravo III and a Bravo III 2006 & up. The company wants more money for the 2006 & up.

How much more are they charging?

Could it be the newer one has the end of the prop shaft drilled and tapped for the prop shaft anode?

BTW, you can buy an excellent prop anode from BoatZincs.com. It is a new small prop nut that has a threaded “cage” that their anode sits on. The end of the cage is threaded and a cap screw holds the anode in place. I don’t recall the price other than it seemed a no brained decision.

Was 2006/7 ish when they launched the Seacore product?

I do know a lot of parts were superseded by newer versions from the repairs we had done to our 2002 vintage Biii. The transom assembly was definitely upgraded.

I though it was in 2003, but the newer style BIII added:

1. Prop shaft anode
2. A second anode under the anti-cavitation plate.
3. A coating on the propshaft bearing carrier.

All of this was in an effort to help prevent the corrosion issues the BIII has suffered from - it wasn't a 100% fix, but it did help quite a bit. I have had both, and the newer drives were better - in fact I had zero corrosion related problems on the newer drives - keeping on top of the paint and anodes was key.

I spoke with a mechanic and was informed the only change was the outside of the drive. In 2006 and up, Mercury made it look a little more streamlined.
