my port engine has the dreaded milky oil. last year new risers and manifolds were put in. had a mechanic out yesterday and he noticed leaking from the oil cooler. started the engine and it ran fine, he had me come up to 1500 rpm while not in gear. the engine did not sputter or vibrate. he seems to think the oil cooler may of caused water to get into the oil. Has anyone ever heard of this issue ? the mechanic is checking with mercury. he also stated he didnt think we needed to do a compression test due to how the engine acted. thanks. engine is a 2001 4.3 with about 750 hours on it

I've heard of it happening. It makes perfect sense to me if the boat runs fine otherwise. Not sure why you posted again as the oil cooler was mentioned in #3 and #6 of your original post.
