Hey guys.. As some of you know I removed the Transmission a few years back without pulling the motor. http://www.clubsearay.com/index.php...-removal-without-pulling-engine-thread.90540/
I hit a rock over the summer and the insurance gave me come cash for a new transmission. This one always mad a loud whine wile the other was silky smooth. So what the heck, I already did it once. This time it took me 15 min to get it out.. Yea 15 min. Once the winch is set up, removing the bolts only took 15 min. I can't imaging what some mechanics are charging for this. Here are some pics of the beauty....This it the new upgraded ZP68 IV. I may replace the other next season.. LOL

Very nice. What did that set you back (if no insurance $$$)?

Still waiting to hear back from insurance about the shafts and props. After the season was over I had the shafts pulled and props off. Both shafts have to be repaired and one prop is not repairable. I already bought a new set , but after this inspection they should have been replaced instead of repaired. So after I took the paint off, and they put a THICK coat of who knows what, this is what I found. Now I know why. There are 2 blades that are so thin it cant be repaired and one that's 1/4" smaller then the others.

Boats out for the season in my backyard. Couplers on the shafts were a bitch. One took me 3 hrs to break loose and the other 30 min. Almost gave up.

that was my experience with the couplers. I used a 5lb slide hammer. Not recommended, but it was either that or a saw

Tell me about it... I had to grind one of the couplers off of the shaft. The shaft was going to be replaced anyway. Thanks for reminding me of the good times, lol!
