I've a late 90s Westerbeke 4.5 KW genset and need to find the governor mounting screws for belt replacement. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks.

If your governor is like mine 4.5 BCG, you won't need to remove the governor to replace the belt. It's easier to remove the sea water pump, or just loosen the bolts. The sea water pump is on a slide which allows the belt to e tightened on the pulleys. Loosen the two nuts on the sea water pump and the unit will slide up allowing you to remove the tension and replace the belt.

On mine..BCGTC the governor belt is forward of the raw water pump belt. I've removed the raw water belt from the pulley buy it seems I need to remove the governor belt to remove and reinstall new raw water belt. Instructions in manual refer to loosening governor mounting screws to adjust/remove governor belt. Spoke w Westerbeke tech...says they are 2 screws either 11/16 or 17mm. Will check when weather clears tomorrow. Seems rediculous to make it so difficult to just change a belt. Sheesh!

Thx though for your advice. Will report back.
