Westerbeke 7.6 draining coolant

Is this pump on this kit strong enough to push it through your engines? Do you remove the raw water impeller before doing this?
Yes, on my cats I removed the hose after the raw water pump and made an adaptor to fit in the 2" hose out of PVC. Hooked it up on the return also with an adaptor to feed it back in the bucket. Ran it for an hour and then reconnected and ran the engine to flush. Worked great, foamed up a lot in the beginning so I knew it was working

I think this will be next weekend's project...

Ok, after a day of soaking (each side about 8 hrs), then day 2 set up a little pump running the Kleen solution from HD at 1:4 ratio. I moved the pump hose around the 3 chambers, flip and repeat. Drained and garden hose rinsed this morning, all tubes look good and clear. I am amazed. Tonight I'll put the wire wheel to it and get ready for some paint. I don't think I'll get it to point of yours Kevin - Nice work! Hopefully the gaskets, etc come in from the Westerbeke store on time and I can have it back together on Saturday morning.

Nice Job. That will get your temps back in check!

Got it all back together over the weekend. Along with a new impeller and oil change. Ran her about 6 hours on Sunday while we were out. Temp at 170 the entire time. Thanks again for everyone's help.
Awesome... see you in Bimini again soon?

Awesome... see you in Bimini again soon?

Thinking we may try to do that since canceling on the Abaco trip. Have the cruise permit until Mid September... let me know next time you guys plan to run over.

Did you replace the zincs while doing this work? If so do you recall where you purchased them from, maybe a parts number?
