The purpose of this thread will be to consolidate all of out collective research and experience we have on sourcing "good enough" parts instead of paying a 500% premium for red paint.
For ever entry made here please include the following:
The model and year of generator, The OEM part number if you know it, A description of the part in question, your sourced alternate part, and some link or contact so others can get it.
Let's try to not clog this one up with questions about parts, just answers. Questions can be asked as usual in this forum, or in other forums. You can point others to this thread.

One thing to consider in going this route for parts. As a equipment manufacture for 24 years, Nothing upsets me more than a customer who after buying a piece of equipment from us starts getting replacement parts from a 3rd party and when things don't work incorrectly Then they call us. After numerous phone calls and then a trip to the plant you find out the problem is the aftermarket part is not doing the job of the original. Also think of the cost of the original R and D, Taking care of recall issues, Paying the people who answer the phone and E Mails when you have a problem. If the OEMs go out of business there will be nothing to put the cheap 3rd world parts on. Easy to copy someone else work, Lot harder to be the original supplier.
