What’s an assault weapon?

"Papers please". Repeat after me. I WILL NOT COMPLY. You might have misinterpreted my response. You HAVE a right to privacy, buy it is being infringed upon. The left is trying to take your rights and force you to do things like carry papers and proof of all kinds of things. Then on the other hand the scumbags fight against showing ID to vote.
Right -- maybe should just need to show vaccination status to vote. That should fix them.

I actually can't believe that there is serious discussion in the USA of "vaccination passports." When I was young, that type of thinking was considered completely un-American.

If in the Nazi regime you were determined to be Jewish you were documented, tracked, and tattooed. They were told it was for the security of the nation; we all know what happened..... History tells me this is bad....

The model 36 is the Chiefs Special
Chiefs Special was before the model 36, but people do call it by Chiefs Special.
For the sake of clarity for anyone else reading along...
From S&W:
"This small revolver, designed primarily for plainclothesmen and off-duty police officers, made its public debut at The International Association of Chiefs of Police conference in 1950. At the conference, the Smith & Wesson sales force asked the police chiefs to vote on a name for the new revolver. The most commonly suggested name was .38 Chief’s Special®. Designed with the needs of law enforcement officials in mind, the Chief’s Special proved to be a popular revolver for personal protection due to its size and weight. When Smith & Wesson adopted model numbers in 1957, the Chiefs Special became the Model 36."

Why are you surprised? School children in the 50-70s had to show proof of a Smallpox vaccination. There were also requirements for polio vaccination as well.

Hey, I know what you meant but not just people continued to called it a Chiefs Special. When S&W threw the number in, it became the Chiefs Special Model 36.

True enough. I have another one S&W calls the Chief Special too. CS9.

Ya, I wonder how they decide. They took an actual Chiefs Special Mod 36, made it out of stainless, still called it a Cheif's Special, but not Mod 36. It was a Mod 36 in stainless, why wouldn't they call it what it was...a Chiefs Special Mod 36 stainless, but nope. I guess it's kinda like SR labeling their boats.

What's that one? I have a 4506, never have made up my mind if I like it.:D
Can't remember off the top of my head the specific number. I just call it a CS9. I love it. Wore it for several years as my EDC around '00 when I bought it. Never has failed me. Not a single jam, stove pipe etc no matter if I was shooting cheap ammo or not. Even the de-cocking lever still doesn't bother me. Only changes I've made was to polish the fcg etc. and put Pro iDots on it.

Never had a Chiefs Special but I did have a 640 in 357 with wood boot grips. Shooting a qualification course with magnums was not really fun.

I still want a model 36 or 37, without the damn hole on the side of the frame

When I was a cop I took a call for something I don't even remember at an elderly couple's house. While sitting there talking to them she mentioned their son had a gun stored at their house. He had died in a car wreck many years before but they still had the gun.

Naturally, being a gun nut/armorer/firearms instructor I asked to see it. They brought out the S&W mahogany box and when I opened it I almost messed my knickers. Inside was a brand new 6" stainless N frame Smith in .44 Mag.

They wanted to give it to me but I said I couldn't take it, but I would check with my chief to see what a fair price would be if I bought it. I did, and went back a few days later with my checkbook. I don't remember what the amount was but after writing out the check and them giving me the gun, they looked at me and tore up the check.

I still have that gun locked up in my safe. That's probably one I'll never part with, and it's still unfired.

I love shooting my Ruger .357 wheel gun, but I don't carry it. I prefer carrying my S&W 40 over everything else now.

I love shooting my .22LR Mark IV Hunter. Wonderful and dead nuts accurate. Not crazy about my P90 .40SW. My little .380 is fun tho. I prefer rifles and shotguns .

.22s are great. Cheap to shoot too which is nice. Especially with the insane prices of ammo right now. We have several 10/22s so I bought a kit to convert one into an evil black rifle. Outstanding kit and fun to shoot. I also have a bolt from CMMG that allows me to shoot .22lr out of any of my 5.56/.223 ARs. Just pull your 5.56 bolt out and replace it with the . 22 bolt. Insert the special .22 magazines and you're off.

The FNS 40 S&W stainless is for the boat when we are in the Bahamas. Frangibles of course.
