man, there are so many transducers to choose from, it is quite overwhelming. I’m looking at an NSS EVO3, but there are total scan, structure scan, forward scan, and chirp. It’s the chirp ones that I don’t get. Forward scan, I’m getting one of these at some point. Structure vs total, not sure, on difference. But the chirp, there are 20 to choose from on west marine site, and they range from 1300$ to $300. What is the difference, and what does the imaging look like compared to the above?
Also, I have an 07 320 v-drives, I’m guessing everyone recommends always using a through hull, and never a transom mount, I would think the prop disturbance would make the transom mount worthless since you cannot put a transom mount in front of the props.
