Just bought a 400 EC 1993, here is what my wife and I did during a long weekend.... 100usd spent, and some verbally fights in the process :)

Grips from Ikea 60usd,.... Wood foil, paint, led approx. 40usd

What you need is heatgun, a stanley knife, and a plastic spatula to remove trapped bubbles (they sell a kit where you buy the foil). remember to deep clean objects before applying. Dont heat when applying on flat surfaces, only where area bends/curves.
I used DC-fix brand, but my guess is any brand will do. Remember to buy more than enough foil, becuz it takes a few sheets to crack the code....
When heated the foil becomes elastic, dont stretch it too much, if doing so the colour also get stretched and the area will look/appear more pale/white. buy an extra roll of foil, if the production stops and you need a repair later on....And most importantly..... If you have the time to do it yourself, then do it yourself!! leave your wife out of it, even though she knows shes the expert....

When heated the foil becomes elastic, dont stretch it too much, if doing so the colour also get stretched and the area will look/appear more pale/white. Save an extra roll of foil, if the production stops and you need a repair later on.... its desirable..... :) ...... If you have the time to do it yourself, then leave your wife out of it... ;)
Looks great. Nice job. Most cabinets use some sort of a veneer for the wood finish look, but I think they go through a hot glue and heated press roller in manufacturing to keep them attached. I'm tempted to do a visual upgrade like you, but I'd be afraid of the adhesion in my Virginia humidity.

I had to look at that twice as I could not believe it was the same boat. Very nice job and over the weekend.....WOW

It will take any humidity, becuz it creates a completely impenetrable barrier

Welcome aboard!

Great results. Hoping you took some progress pictures. More details please.

Only had time to do a before and after pic, but youtube has a lot of tutorials, but you dont need them, you will crack the code within the first sheet or two...... just added some details.... cheers Max

I could make a peanut butter and jam sandwich in the kitchen and get in a verbal fight with my wife…. Nice job…what is the material you used?
Thx mate, used DC-fix brand.... just let her do the sandwich for you, its a win win .... lol

Bitching at me for being awake with tv on. Today all lovey dovey after i made her nice breakfast. I swear they are all nuts.
