Got the bottom all done today. Very nice in Michigan - 56 degrees. We got 2 i n our marina with the wrap off. Mines coming off mid week and I hope to have the sweet smell of compound going on next weekend.

Took mine off last weekend. Polished port side below rubrails yesterday, and did the starboard side today. Hoping to bottom paint next weekend.

As soon as my aft curtain with new glass gets done. I don't plan on going in till last week of April. All I have to do is bottom paint. I have someone else doing the wheeling.

Mine came off today. Buffing and mechanical has to wait because of other plans but now that the cockpit cover is on access it easy.

We have lots of ice on Spring Lake now but Norris Creek up at the north end of the lake has opened up and turned to the South. Once that happens, the ice can move around and on a warm windy day the ice can go out pretty quickly. The marinas still have ice in them, and I've not seen very many people working on boats. Any West winds we get now are still blowing across a lot of ice or very cold water if there is any to be seen. It is still too cold to enjoy working outside on a boat if there is any wind. This week is supposed to be warmer.

Painted mine today (still a little wet in pic ). I don't take the shrink off till the hauler comes. I have trees around mine and hate when it gets dirty before it goes in. I always wax from the rubrail up in the fall. Cut the shrink at the rail and wax bottom in spring.

Started waxing today, spent all day yesterday giving her a good bath.

I usually wait until I’m in the water and back at my own dock where I have all my own stuff to give the topsides a good scrub, polish, and wax.
Dragging 150’ of hose down to the boatyard where the water pressure is not great and more climbing up and down ladders scrubbing than is necessary is less than ideal.
I cleaned the sides with a bucket and spray cleaner before polishing because that’s the easiest way when it’s blocked up in the boatyard, but that doesn’t work as well on the topsides.
Now that I’ve got the sides polished, I’ve got to hand wax them (3 coats), paint the bottom, and install the zincs. Might get the boot stripe replaced before splashing too.

I'm ready for splash. had some minor issues that needed to be addressed . All done

Now waiting on marina

Still iced in but a good wind will take this out. Should be open in 2-3 days.

I'm new to the shrink wrap game this year. Is it just preference on when it comes off? When I pull the wrap off I have to put up my eisenglass, is it wrong to be concerned about it when it gets cold overnight?

I have bottom paint and a complete inside/out detail the week of 4/22. I still need my stern thruster fixed too..

I'm getting itchy

Your preference. Take it off when you are ready to start working. It is a fair amount of work so you might want to expend the energy a day or two before you are ready to start working in earnest.

I don't take it off till the day I get hauled. I wouldn't want to put up my glass in that April snow storm either..lol.. Wax in the fall, Shrink and drink a beer at the dock once it's in Spring.

Wednesday, March 27th. We compounded and waxed our boat in October prior to shrink-wrapping. Now we are ready to begin detailing our customer’s boats. Here’s hoping for some warm weather!!
