I just purchased a used 2016 Sundeck 220 OB. All literature I've seen says it has a 45 gal fuel capacity. The multifunction tach display shows that the fuel capacity is 53 gal. I can reset that capacity to 45 gal but want to make sure I'm using an accurate number. I don't mind having a safety margin built into it. I realize that there's a difference between the tank capacity and the system capacity...or usable vs unusable fuel.

Thanks!

I think the general rule is 80% is usable. I personally try to keep above 50% just as a habit. And I prefer having a smaller # during my (more frequent) fillups :)

I'd trust the literature from your boat before the electronics. Electronics can be changed. Confirm your tank size directly with Sea Ray and enjoy....

Other than the literature, the gas tank will have a spec plate on it. If you start looking at the tank, you'll find it. It may not be in the "easiest" place to see it - but you'll find it. The plate will show, among other things, the exact capacity.

If you are outside, usable capacity is 2/3 total capacity. If you are inside, near a fill up, you can be more adventurous. :)
