Where to mount inverter?

OK I have read many posts in the forum over inverters.

I was planning on mounting a Prosine 1800 in the engine compartment but learned that's a big NO.

I have a 99 310 Sea Ray, where is a good place to mount this thing?

Read your directions... It needs to be within so many feet of the batteries powering it. Mine is in the E.R. but I'm diesel and it's within 3 feet of the battery bank.
