Who's NOT boating this season due to COVID?

Just get the bad news my marina has closed the yard as per the DEC, The owner said the DEC is checking all marinas that no work is being done.
He does not even know when it will be open again.
I missed getting the boat in the water by one week.

Which Marina?

Which Marina?
Leeward Cove is mine ( winter only Town slip in the summer ) and one my friend is at West Sayville Boat Basin ( Closed no entry ) and the other is at South Shore, Closed but as of now you can get in the yard.

The marina called and said HOA VIOLATION was ready to go. Made sure bill was paid in full while on the phone and made arrangements that I would not have to interact with anyone to pick it up. The wife and I arrived and was greeted by a beautiful and lonely golden retriever. She verified our intention, offered a head to scratch and saw us on our way. Boat is home and restocked with all the summer necessities minus food and beverage. Now, I am being told I may be mandatoried to work every day in April. Oh well, she is ready when I can get a day off to back her down a ramp.

We are not launching. Our marina, in SW Michigan, will not pump out, turn water on, or open the building which has bathrooms and showers. The height of the lake is a concern also in our marina.

I'm just across the state line from you and there are boats in my marina. Very few, however I have a friend being launched tomorrow. Self Serve gas pumps I've heard are on, haven't heard about the self serve pump outs. The office is closed and I still have my launch set for April 30th. A lot can happen between now and then. I plan to get my boat ready to go and make a final decision that week. If the marina is empty - not sure I want to be one of the few in the water.

Our marina notified all of us they have shut down the facility to members but will check on each slip holders boat daily which is standard practice. )-:

Just canceled my NYC trip on July 10th. Think that was a good call. Give's me more time in Block Island now July 31st ..:D Fingers crossed!

We cancelled our slip in Huntington for the season so we’ll leave the boat in Fla now till next spring. Fla starts shelter in place tonight at midnight which we’ve been doing anyway
We can’t get fuel or dockage to make the trip home and I’ve heard my marina are hoping to open in June so the season is too short to make the trip in June or July. We are calling other marinas for a cheaper place to keep her for the summer and most have waiting lists as the snowbirds are stuck here.
We also have to change Ins companies to be able to stay here. Well It could be worse. Stay safe everyone.

Good to know. I am at Leeward Cove also. Mine is home in my driveway now but hopefully they will be able to open at some point so we can enjoy the summer

A while ago, yes.

I’m going to uncover and prep as if things will proceed even if late.

Not ready to throw in the towel yet on the only thing that keeps me sane all winter.

Well this thread got depressing
We are depressed too since 1 April. We thought we had the luck that we staid in the water this winter but since 1 April it’s not allowed to overnight in the marina. After 23:00 you have to leave the boat. Marina is open only for members.

Since we own our boat for a short time and still are upgrading things till end of May we are depressed. Life on board is completely different when you know that you have to go before 23:00.

The whole ambiance is gone at the marina but considering the cause I could life with that but with the pointless ‘no sleeping rule’ I am pissed, angry and depressed.

I read a lot of posts from you guys that can’t haul their boat in the water because of closed marinas and feel really sorry for you guys and girls. I should have gone crazy.
Hoping for better times soon and that everyone stays save and that your boats may be in the water very soon...

I'm trying to look at the brighter side. I had 2 small trips planned,The first (July 10th) to liberty landing in NJ and then up the Hudson to Haverstraw, 3 day trip. The second to Block for 3 days then Clinton CT for 2. I canceled the city and am extending the Block trip (July 18) , adding Newport then Clinton. I have to get my mind off things and keep hope! Think positive guys!

Where were you staying in NYC?
We usually stay at Liberty Landing on the Jersey side.

Our club did a 3-4 day cruise up the Snake River every April. Nope, not this year. We can still get the boat out for a few hours and overnight on it if we want, but no club functions and no rafting up.

Too bad that you had to cancel Liberty Landing. Beautiful views of the NYC skyline and short Uber to tons of restaurants and bars in Hoboken.
Think about extending the Hudson trip up to Kingston. We make the trip every fall. Beautiful ride up the Hudson and really nice little waterfront town on Roundout Creek with good Restaurants all within a few blocks of your boat if you stay at the Town dock or Hudson Maritime Museum.
Both are reasonably priced. The museum will take a reservation and it’s our first choice because it’s all side tie slips. The Town Dock has very limited availability for my 410. It can’t fit in any of their back in slips, but I think your 340 should be okay. We stayed there with our old 300 in the past and it fit with no problem
Fuel is available at a transient marina on the other side of Roundout Creek, I fill up there and that place looks to be a nice family place, but staying on that side will mean you need either an Uber or dinghy to get to where everything is.
Never stayed on the Haverstraw side of the river, but we have stayed on the west side of Haverstraw Bay at Half Moon Bay. Nice place. Not much in walking distance, but Uber operates around there and the sunset views across the river while sipping cocktails is priceless.

Off to a slow start in the Thousand Islands, on the Canadian side...the municipal marina in Gananoque, On is closed til further notice (Tennant’s have to remove their boats by Apr 5) due to Covid as well as Hucks Marine in Rockport. Prime destination for boaters are the docks on Thousand Islands National Park....also closed until further notice.
Complicating things is the forecast of record high water levels that will flood most docks and marinas.
Things usually don’t start til the May 2-4/Memorial day weekend so hopefully things will change to the positive.
If planning a cruise, it will be essential to call ahead.

It's all good. I've been there 3 times already. Also up the Hudson. One long trip will save me a bunch of cash also in fuel, so I'm good with it. I'll be happy with one trip this year. It's gonna be weird though. Boating is a social thing and were all not going to want to be near each other. Kinda sucks.

Next time you head north on the Hudson, check the fuel prices in Alpine. Short distance north when you come out Spuyten Duyvil. Small State run marina. Cheapest gas I ever saw on the water. Less than I pay at the pump on the street for my cars.
Unfortunately, they don’t have diesel so it’s off my list now.
