Has anyone installed a WiFi booster? Looked at the Wave Rogue system but it is WAY complicated. Any thoughts would be appreciated

I installed the Coastal Marine WiFi. They all use the Ubiquity bullet amplifier. I selected Coastal Marine because their interface is a simple to use App on your smart phone and they have the best marine antenna design.

I have this on my boat and it works fine in marinas, simple set up. Has been in the elements here in FL for over a year with no problems. I did take it down when a hurricane was rumored to be passing by.

AC600 Outdoor Weatherproof WiFi Access Point. Got it at Amazon. Ubiquiti & the Wave ones looked too complicated.

I have a Rogue wave dual band. Simple install. 120 v power to the POE injector that hooks to the wave and a 5e cable to my wireless router. Works great.

Rogue has a few different models. Which one do you have? Thanks!

We have the Glomex WebBoat. It is a WiFi antenna, WiFi router and cellular based WiFi hotspot. The cell system is similar to the device that is in many new cars that provides a WiFi hotspot in the car. The wiring is very simple 12vdc to the antenna and the rest is all wireless setup from a phone app. Only downside is cell system is currently only compatible with ATT. After a season we’ve found it works great.

Where did you Mount this? Thanks

I have the dual band Wave also. I will say that I was a little nervous about buying it because on the surface, it looks complicated. I will say that I was wrong because it really is quite simple to hook up and program. I’m very pleased with it.

Google panbo.com WiFi and router. Great DIY how to on this subject.

great help guys and thanks.. on a scale 1 to 10 how would you rate signal strength, is streaming possible..are you using cell service in conjunction

Ours is 7-9 out of 10. Very happy with it. No drop offs, but we only use it for uploading and dowloading, email, etc. We still work, and work from the boat. We don't use it for streaming.

When everyone at the marina is on the marina's wifi it can slow down in my experience.

I assume that each marina has different peak times for internet usage. Other factors are types of residents: is the marina largely transient, largely live-aboard?

I installed the IslandTime Wifi (www.islandtimepc.com/wifi-systems) Extender, Router Package and In Line Mount this weekend. Was not a bad install and has made a huge difference already. I work from the boat daily since Corona and I have to toggle back and forth between the marina wifi and my phone hotspot. That caused a few hiccups each day. So far with the Extender I have very good connection speed through the router. I had the wife and both teenagers working it pretty hard this weekend and no complaints. Everyone watching TV, YouTube and surfing.

I put the router in the Salon stereo cabinet and hard wired the Router to the Salon TV.

When there is no Marina Wifi to jump on I can connect my phone’s hotspot to the Router.

May be the best $350 spent to date.
