so I’ve had this windlass issue and wondering if I am going about solving the issue wrong. So I have a 92 330 dancer and a Good windlass. The problem was the solenoids not engaging. A wack with a back end of screwdriver would get them engaged. So last year I replaced the two solenoids and coated them in some dielectric so they would not corrode like the others did in the anchor locker. Now a month into that they started to have the same issue again. I am wondering if it is the batteries? I know the windlass is quite a draw. Wondering what more electrical experts think?

Could be the motor. Windlass motors are notorious for internal corrosion. Email Good, they are great to deal with.

Good has significantly improved the design of the free-drop windlass in recent years. THey now use a 4 pole motor and their relays are all potted in one epoxy sealerd block. If you haven't had your upgraded, it sounds like this might be the time to call Good..........609-698-4402 or 800-780-4655.

The 4-pole motor is much stronger and faster and it comes with a new gear set that significantly increases line take up speed and strength of pull. They usually rebuild the line handling parts at the same time. A bonus is their sealed solenoid/relay package which ends messing with corroded electronics. I had this done to my Good CF-D several years ago and it ended all of my windlass problems. I love Good because they make repairs and rebuilding so easy that I never have to do more than remmove the windlass. pack it in the box and take it to a UPS drop off.

What did that cost if you don’t make me me asking ?
