My bow light keeps blowing the bulbs. Original to the boat so not sure what is causing it. Any ideas? If I need to replace it what recomendations do you all have.

Thank You!

Electric motors such as those on a windlass can cause large power spikes at switch on or off - to suppress these capacitors and diodes are often used.

You need to find out if you have them fitted and if they have failed

My suggestion is to not replace the bulb in your existing light but rather to buy a hand held 1MM candlepower, rechargeable light. It's easy to keep on the helm, easy to pick up and quick to aim where you want it.

Have sent one back to the manufacturer for a rebuild one time. Actually worked out very well. Got it back in a couple of weeks, essentially totally refurbished and like new.

They may be able to reseal the casing if you are getting water in somewhere.

My bet is a voltage drop/poor connection on the ground side of the bulb circuit. Start testing closest to the relay powering the bulb with a DVOM.
