I have heard different thoughts on leaving the batteries in the boat or removing them. I left the three batteries hooked up in my boat last winter with the shore power plugged in. The AC converter/battery charger charged them then switched to a trickle charge. Is this acceptable to do it again this winter or will it cause problems down the line?

My marina disconnects and leaves in the boat. I connect and charge before launch. I used to remove them and store a home, but it became to much of a PIA. Haven't really noticed a difference.

I make sure the water level is good and fully charged then disconnect the negative wire and thats it. In the spring top them off with a charge before i splash and good to go!

I used to remove them boats ago...but don’t anymore. Inside storage we can’t leave the boat plugged in so just plug it in when I am there..never had a problem

Thanks for the input much appreciated!

Dam auto fill. Do I really need go disconnect the negative cable from the batteries?

To be on the safe side I would. Straight from the factory the wiring to the bilge pumps by passed the battery switches. There’s been thirty or so years for another circuit to be added that also bypassed the batteries.

This all depends on your storage facility. Most yards around us frown on full time unattended power hook ups. This is mostly for fire regulations. We are also inside and I plug the charger in when I’m there doing stuff.
