I have never been able to get my shore TV antenna connection to work on cable since I have had the boat so last night I decided to dig into it. I brought home from work our cable tester and started checking the cables, and when I plugged into the one for the shore connection the tester told me it was an “active cable”…. Well that should not be. The next step was to pull out the Glomux switch / amplifier and check those connections. Well after 3 hours of trouble shooting the switch I finally found the problem. The switch has three input cables, one from the shore connection, and one from the Glomux antenna on the arch, and the one in the middle goes out to the TV’s. Well the one from the shore connection was on the middle post which is supposed to be out to the TV’s and the one that when out to the TV’s was on the shore connection post…. Reversed! Now the TV’s did work with the Glomux antenna in that configuration, but of course shore connection did not.

I corrected the wiring and was amazed when I rescanned my channels on the TV using just the Glomux antenna with the gain all the way up. It picked up 18 channels. I then tested my shore connection by plugging that into an antenna and rescanning…. All worked great.

And to think you waited all this time for such an easy fix ;)

Nice when things just work, no?

Hack,
Are you going to send a bill to Sea Ray for 3 hours of your time?:smt013

Since you and I have the same vintage 320's, what did you do to receive digital signals for your TV(s). I am on a satellite feed now with an analog signal but will be moving to another marina next season where I should be able to get off-the-air reception. My large LG TV is HD capable but has an analog tuner so I would need get an ATSC tuner to feed it or replace the TV altogether.

For the small TV by the berth I bought and installed a digital converter. The big TV on the wall (self installed) was already a digital TV, and no converter was required. The standard Glomux antenna works fine for the digital signal.

BTW, this is the second time I found something not plugged into the right port on this boat. Several seasons ago the cable from the Clarion to the Sirius box was plugged into opposite slots. That required pulling the electrical cabinets apart to find that one. So I am kind used to debugging Sea Ray issues now.
