I have an issue with my forward emergency pump(Located near the shower drain pump under the cabin floor). Anyone who has a 97' 370DA, if they can identify the two wires that comes out the wire harness to this pump. I am not the first owner and I think some one went stupid on me when trying to rewire the pump.
How I found out that pump wasn't working properly is that the switch to the shower drain pump quit working, filling up and overflowing into the cavity next to it. The forward emergency pump comes on but will not pump the water out, also the switch is good and the drain hose is not plugged. When the pump comes on I only have 5.6 volts. The white wire ( the mystery wire ) is suppose to be the ground wire to the black wire coming out the motor. . When disconnecting the white wire from the black wire of the motor and attaching a known good ground wire the motor works properly. I traced the white wire to a wire connected strip under the console. Another white wire is connected to it with a single wire lug. I cut the two wires off, thinking that the problem was a connection issue not so. Sorry for the long explaination. I just need to know about the two wires.

Ted,

Have you tried calling Sea Ray or even your local dealer? They have access to the plans and can print or email you the info. I called to track down an optional bilge light that I thought might have the wiring in the factory loom and they not only told me the colors of the wires and wire numbers over the phone, but emailed me the wiring schematic for the ac and dc systems. (Looked easy on paper, not so easy to find in that big ass loom).

I would start there if someone else doesn't chime in with exactly what you are looking for. Then if you need help in tracing the circuit thru the wiring schematic to figure out what you are looking for, I'd be happy to help.

Good luck,

Dan

The white wire is used for an alarm. you will find this wire only on your emergency pumps ( aft bilge and fwd bilge ) It should be wired to the load side of the float switch so that an alarm sounds when it is activated.

I found the problem and I truely think that it has been like that since 1997. You are correct with the white wire being the alarm wire and that it does connect on the load side of the switch, but they were using it has gnd wire. What I found was that the actual gnd wire(black) was neatly tucked inside the corrigated hose with its bud splice ready to be connected but never connected. Once I wired the pump properly every worked fine.
