Hello,

Per the attached pic I discovered this worn cable, circled in red near the engine bay. The rear passenger cooler/storage screws over this and the plastic drain plug pushes hard on the cable, creating the wear.

Is this part of the steering cable? And should I replace?

Thank you

yes that’s the steering cable. And yes I would look into replacing it.

I just changed mine out in the fall on my 240. Tie a string to the old one as you pull it out. Almost a necessity to get the new one back through on the 240's. You will need a 1 1/8" wrench. I bought a cheap one for around $10 if you don't have one that big. I got it from Amazon or Home Depot.
