Good morning everyone, I just bought a 2001 sea ray 340 inboards with the 8.1. My question is, how many zincs do I need for this boat and does anyone know what size they are? I also noticed that the prop shafts do not have the zincs on them. Do I need to put those zinc wrap arounds on the shafts? Thanks everyone

Congrats on the new boat. That's a great model! I believe that on my 330 there are the trim tab zincs, a big block style one on the transom & I do have the wrap around ones on the shafts but I'm not really sure how necessary those two are.

Thanks guys. What size zinc is on the lower transom

Go to boat zinks get B12 for back and two 3.5 round for tabs. Do not put zinks on shafts Sea Rays are bonded only sub quality boats use them.

This is good information. I put zincs on the shafts. I also grind down the trasome zinc each year. Still plenty left, saves $$$

There is main hull zinc, (it's oval and I think 9") two trim tab zincs, (2 1/2" or 3" will work) and optional shaft zincs ( 1 1/2" ID)... I use the shaft zincs and they do disappear... I get my zincs from a CSR sponsor boatzincs.com... The hull zinc is half the WM price... I typically order two years worth to aviod shipping costs. Your generator HE has a 1/4" pencil zinc you should change too. The mains don't come with factory zincs... I have zincs on my exhaust manifolds because I have aftermarket SS exhausts...

zinc should be for a 1.5 inch shaft i have the same boat. i put them on cause where i am electrolisys is really bad. they were gone when i came out last fall.

boatzincs.com will take care of you 112 dollars for our boat 2 shaft, 2 trim tabs and one plate for transom. i get the heavy duty set.

Zincs - I use only CAMP brand as they have excellent bonding. I recommend 2 barrel R-7 on each 1.5" shaft. Make sure the shaft zincs are soundly tapped with a hammer and re-tightened during installation. 1 R-3 on each rudder and on each trim tab. 1 B-12 on the transom. In addition to quality zincs, make sure you have high a quality bonding system in the boat. You need to be protected from leakage from you boat as well as from other boats near you.
