Sun pad vinyl replacement 210 BR

I need to replace the vinyl on my sun pad (engine cover) on my 2000 210 BR. Is this a do it yourself job and does anyone have any suggestions on where to get matching vinyl replacement?

Re: Sun pad vinyl replacement 210 BR

John, I replaced the rotted wood under the sun pad several years ago and it was labor intensive but with the correct tools the job went well. I used a commerical staple remover (100's of staples) an air stapler with stainless staples and plenty of hands to stretch the material. The vinyl was not worn so I re installed the original. My 230 Ray has designs and several laid in pieces so I would suggest you seek a good upholstery person for assistance with the material. The pad wood will have to come off in order to lay it flat to install the material and underpad. We also replaced the water guard (clear plastic sheeting) to keep water out of the foam. I used marine plywood to replace the original sheet of the cheapest grade of non treated plywood placed by the manufacturer. Considering the entire job, I would remove the pad and take it to a qualified person.

Do you have any pictures of the old one? We may be able to duplicate it for you.

You are probably right. I need to just bite the bullet and take it to a pro. I am trying to sell the boat and the vinyl on the sun pad is cracked and it is turning a lot of potential buyers away. Thanks for the reply dr. j.

If anyone else has had any experience replacing the sun pad vinyl, I would like hear your experience.
