Re: Calling all 360 DA owners

the Garmin dome is very light weight, that old KVH was 50+ pounds I know because I swapped while dangling 17ft in the air off a ladder dodging wakes at the marina while the neighbors sat and watched the show. The mount is rock solid its aluminum and handles rough water perfect it never flinches. I don't know the specs or brand on the mount but I'm sure it wasn't cheap. Its bolted solidly to the arch and 14 years later there is no signs of issues.

John great thanks four your reply.

Looked to the specs and your radar is 17 pounds and sat is 30 pounds and mount should be around 17 pounds I guess, total of 64 pounds / 29 kg.

Haha DAMHIK that show, try it doing in 1+ meter waves disassembling the radar, sat and mount.

My radar is 8 kg, sat 13,5 kg and custom made SS mount is 13,5 kg total of 35-36 kg. Firstly I dissembled the factory fitted Ray dome and put the ss mount over the aluminium mount and had no problem until I had my one man show returning from our wonderful 530 nm/14days Greece trip . While bumping to the head seas on plane the factory aluminium part broke and mount fell down to the aft bimini, had to cut the cables to remove them (long story short).

Then I directly put the mount to the arch by drilling new suitable holes to the mount and put 4cm x 4cm thick ss backing plates inside(under) the arch and until now I have no problem.

BUT there is some doubt in my mind that will my arch handle the 35-36kgs and some day eventually crack and fell down the mount again, or 30kg is the safe limit and should I buy an aluminium mount to lower the weight ?

    What do you think ?

    TIA
    Best regards.

WOW those are some stats! Yeah when it comes to the Arch I agree when you hang any decent amount of weight on there it will crack some where at some point. We just need to be diligent and reinforce it as good as possible and hope for the best.

Re: Calling all 360 DA owners

Hi All, have had our 360 since July she is awesome. A couple questions does anyone have the part number for the vent window gasket ? It isnt listed as such in the parts manual or I missed it. Second I wanted to have the cord replaced on my Raymarine VHF like many have posted here removed the handset holder but the wires run into the dash is there an easy way to get to the head unit to unplug the handset to send out? Have greatly enjoyed reading through the thread and have learned much.
    Thanks
    Bruce

The vent window seal (rectangle in shape) is part # 41100061. Ordered from Skipper Buds last year for $132.

Also, to follow up on a previous post for the fridge and freezer control units....they were...
