u-line ice maker

anybody ever repair a u-line sp-18 icemaker ? The freezer works fine but it won't make any ice. The arm is in the down position and I already replaced the water inlet valve thing( can't remember the nameof that part ) that the water hooks up to. Still nothing

. I hate to have to buy a new one , there like $1100. thanks

I'm not certain but I think you can use an aftermarket icemaker mechanism. I believe they are pretty standard. Others may know better.

We had ours fixed this year. The part that makes the ice was shot, one big mess inside. I think my husband said it cost about $250 to repair.

There is a sticky on another forum under the maintenance section. It's the forum that has education in its name and also "boater" in its name. It has extensive information about U Line icemakers and how to fix them.
