Re: Sea Ray SSS 1993 63 ft
Rob
Read through all you have been through unreal. I do like your statement; “You can do what ever you want as long as you put your mind to it”. That was what my grandmother always taught me and I find it to be true. The worst thing to say is; “I Can’t”
Just a few suggestions for the paying guests on your boat from what I have observed. Have a complete list as to what is expected of them while on your boat. That all will sign.
Such as no smoking on the boat, excessive alcohol drinking will be cause for one or the complete group to be thrown off the boat. Barfbags are available in case one feels they are going to get sick. Failure to use these bags and throwing up anywhere else is an additional $100.00 fine on top of the security deposit. No return of security deposit for damages even if the person that broke the rules was not the one that hired you. I would make sure the security deposit was large enough that the ones paying for the boat would not want to loose it. This would cause the ones renting the boat to become more responsible for their guests not wanting to loose their deposit. If not then you will be compensated for the extra work with the security deposit.Last edited by DougLas; 10-04-2012 at 08:37 AM.

Douglass: I firmly believe a person can accomplish anything they set their mind to if they want it bad enough!!
Your right can't is definately not a good word and for the people with a negative mindset !
Excellent ideas on the charters! I have given up on the charter idea here in Australia it is far too expensive to get a boat into what they call survey and keep it there. A friend if mine has a charter boat and he spends around 25-33 k a year just to keep his boat in survey and he does most of the work himself. It's pretty nuts!!
I found a way around it all through a friend I made we were going to do a business together but there was some bad luck , misunderstandings and other things, it ended up not happening.
In the end I don't know if I could deal with commercializing my boat after putting a ton of thought into it. The boats means too much too me and is my home right now not just a boat. dunno if I could deal with say strangers sleeping in my bed among other things! Still swirling in my head in a way as she is slowly sinking me with the expenses. But again I will find a way to get by and through it I always do!! If I do ever go in a commercial sense I will definately keep your suggestions in mind thanks for that and nice to meet you!
Pyro: here comes trip number one for the summer to keep you entertained!
Going out tomorrow night and grabbing a primo anchor spot just off cockatoo island for http://m.redbullxfighters.com/op/rbxf/en/mcat/
Should be an awesome event!! Will overnight and be in place for everything in the morn. My friend will be joining me with his 63 ex pt boat converted into a cruiser "neat boat still has bullets in some of the wood from when it was
In service" for a raft and we have about 40 people coming between us all getting shuttled out by tender from nearby ferry docks. Should be a fun day all around. Have already read everyone the riot act about drinking too much etc. won't tolerate it and they are off the boat if they even get close. Will overnight at taronga zoo swing moorings after with a select few and enjoy a nice day in the sun on Sunday. So yeah fun week end coming up. Hope to take lots of video to cut together something really fun for you guys!! A lot of girls coming so hopefully it's sunny for some good bikini footage I know how we all dig that lol. Already told everyone coming I will be filming and they are all fine with it :)
Tomorrow let the fun begin!!! And hopefully no dramas, it's seems to be rare I have a trip without it lets hope that's the case this time!!! I think KAZ is right I should do the renaming ceremony so Jupiter and the other boat gods stop zapping me lol1999 Sea Ray 540DA

I can agree with not wanting to charter your boat that is why a boat is referrred to as she or her. They can be hard to get along with at times and need special attention but when it comes down to it we have a hard time thinking about sharing her. I could never see my boat being used by somone else let alone sleeping in the Captain's bed.Doug

Dunno why but the show has not started yet 2 pm!!! Waiting for all the motor cross mayhem. Just finished shuttling 22 people aboard with the jet boat barbecue is on so fun is on. Now we just need bikes flying through the air. Good thing I got here early lots of boats here now would not have been able to get close if I didn't come early!!
Maritime are so annoying here!! On my last trip to the boat they pulled me over. Had 50 ft to go to the big boat they were not happy with how my passengers had their life jackets on so gave us a lesson in life jackets so had the people onboard tie them all up properly so we could go the whole 50 ft to the boat with jackets done right hahha
Anyways no sun so no bikinis so far!! Just waiting for the action to kick off with the world motor cross champs!!1999 Sea Ray 540DA

Re: Sea Ray SSS 1993 63 ft
Yes - renaming ritual is a good thing :-) - so far Agnes II has treated me better after doing it.
Generator is now working. Seems like the fuel pump was disintegrating sending small specks of ? Impeller? into the injector. So that is fixed. Today I'll get my new shower sump box and pump - so that will hopefully take care of the excessive water leaks. I'll find a Whale sump pump and sump box for the next replacement since they have versions without a float (since all floats seem to die very early)
I'm still waiting for haul out to fix the tiny leak from the bellows. :-( Peak time here - season is starting so mechanics are all very busy.
And now since generator is working - so we can have A/C on the "run" - I'm taking my wife and now 6 week old son out on adventure.
But it is quite funny coming mostly from sail boat cruisers to this. The amount of wasted space is amazing. Yes there is lots of storage - but had it been a sail boat - there would have been 30% more storage. Every where I look there are "huge" empty spaces.
But I'm having fun. My current "quest" is noise dampening. First to go is the two Rule "Turbo" bilge blowers - and they are being replaced with Jabsco parts - that cost 5 times as much - but should be a lot more silent. Right now the Rule blowers create 63 dBa of noise. That is just tooo much - and only 1 dBa lower than the Generator itself on full load. One contributing factor is of course Sea Ray's lack of ability to run the ducts to minimize noise. That is easy to "straighten out" though.///
