Most look about right but not all the pieces. I looked at the parts manual and they seem to be a bit different as well. I watched my installer make the patterns and it is quite simple. He used heavy brown paper and cut to fit. He marked both inside and outside corners with a magic marker. He did a tighter fit that the factory as well. The carpet will come without the snaps as this will need to be done on the boat. He did tell me that some pro's will mislable their patterns to protect their work. In other words label the pattern as a 460 when it really is a 500. Safest thing to do would be your own patterns. Good Luck!!

Well the sea trial went good today! The engines/engine room need some TLC!! They have only had 20 hours put on them in the last two years. So pretty much all the hoses need to be replaced and a complete servicing of all fluids and filters. The generator has some issues that the seller is going to have to take care of. She had 6 people full of water/fuel and plained out nicely and topped out at 26 mph. Both rudders however need to be re-set, they have some play to them. Overall no real deal killers in my book. Will have to see how the oil samples come back and go from there.

As a matter of interest, what model is the generator and what were the issues?

Two years ago I bought a 460 that had not been used for 4 seasons.

Graham, it is a 8kw Westerbeke, supposedly it was re-built in 2009. I don't know what the issue is with it right now other that it wouldn't turnover. The seller is having Marine Max check it out.

    Re: 460 DA Owners Thread

    OK understood.

Mine has always run a little rough when first started, almost as if one cylinder is weak, and after about 20 -30 minutes, well after it gets up to temperature, it appears to be a lot smoother.

I suspected tight tappet settings, however I have yet to check it out, the local Westerbeke people tell me the tappets are always loose, never tight, and I figured that with getting smoother when fully warmed up, that would not indicate tight tappets anyway, as temperature rises, I think tappet settings would close up some more.

Maybe it is just lack of use, I will get right into it one day.

Anyone assemble a spare parts list for a 2006 48da?

Trying to figure out if the 2000 model I am looking at has the Balsa in the sides and bottom. I have hull number 645. Thanks for any help with this.

Yes it does. Balsa was in the "sandwich" of the hullsides until hull #517 in 2001. Should not matter if the stanchions and engine vents are properly bedded. These are areas to check, especially the latter, with a moisture meter.
