I'm looking a buy an hds-8 gen 2 with the lss1 structure scan with the insite mapping and maybe an lrv 880 lowrance radio to go with it.
Any thoughts on this before I make the big plung?1990 sea ray 270 sundancer, twin 4.3 175 hp

I have a new Lawrance HDS-8 Gen 2 with structure scan.I have not installed it yet but I'm sold on that unit.I bought it at Bass Pro.So I looked at all of them there with the informative salesman going over it with me.
Amazon.com is a litle cheaper though.
But I must say that guy knew his stuff between Garmin, Hummingbird & Lawrance.

I have one Coming from BOE marine. should be here in a day or two.
I'm questioning the insight maps or the old garmin maps i'm using now.1990 sea ray 270 sundancer, twin 4.3 175 hp

go navionics way better than insight mapping

Ya, little pissed about the insight mapping now. Figured after 10 years between my old gramin and the new insight it would be better than it is, Looks like it would get you in trouble. Grays reef in lake michigan

I agree with Larry, go with Navionics Platinum. BOE has the best price bar none for the hardware.

Ok, so how you know when to turn charger off? I'm plugged in full time when at home with the AC converter on. So it's charging all the time I assume.
I can't relax out on the boat
