Anyone have an 89 300 with big blocks ?

dwna1a posted "Went out for what should be the last dive on the hull and to scrub the hull.... Coming back in and the starboard engine stopped, got it running again and made it to the slip, it shut down again. Pulled the cover and the carb is completely flooded with fuel. Time to rebuild another quad jet.... Looking for the kit, any suggestions?"

As engine work is clearly not my forte, I will be anxiously awaiting replies to this as both of my carbs need to be rebuilt this winter...

I bought a $19 kit off Ebay and watched this guys step by step videos. I've never rebuilt a quadrajet before and it was easy with the videos.

No but I bet it flies!!! ;) Mine with the 350's has NO power issues.

For sure !! No shortage of power.
Have never gone to WOT.
36mph Gps at 3900 rpm is the quickest so far.
Once the secondaries are open there goes the fuel but what a sweet sound and awesome ride.

We thought it would be big enough for the first mate and myself when we moved up from a 230DA, however now wishing we had more cabin space to accomodate 4 adults and a couple of kids. Not too sure what to do as budget is limited.

I understand completely. We always say our boat party's 8, feeds 4 and sleeps 2! When it comes to bedtime that is our space, so I'm not sure the extra mid berth would add much value to us for sleeping. However, we thought when upgrading from our 23' to this one that the space would be perfect for us. Not so much now!! Lol We have done a lot of changes to make it comfortable for us and I think we'll try to get one or two more seasons out of her to enjoy the modifications. Then, it's time to move up!
