Well THAT took a lot longer than expected!
Set out at 4 this afternoon to replace the old shower sump. I picked up an Attwood 740GPH to replace the old one that constantly recycled. It was a pain and tough to sleep with it going off every 30 seconds. My buddy Clark came down and away we went. We finished at 10!
Clark is a take charge kind of guy and away he went. The old Rule came out easily. Then the fun began...the hoses didn't exactly fit with the outlets on the case. Off to the store for new ones and some more hosing to lengthen a couple of the hoses.
Unlike most, we both read all the literature. But there's nothing there about the connectors. Plus, the drain hose connector was different than the others. But we got it done nicely...including connecting the cockpit sink drain hose to a closed connection...oops.
Finally wiring was done. Waterproof crimp connectors worked well. And it works.
So while there was unexpected details to get by, it's done. And we now have a quiet shower sump complete with a check valve. Nice!
Its almost midnight...everything is cleaned up and I'm enjoying a drink in the cockpit. And the Admiral simply said I might as well stay on board tonight! So I think another Canadian Club & Coke is in order!

Good job getting the new sump installed Mark. A job like that always feels best when it's done and yo're enjoying a cool one!
