cockpit cupholder
I have a crack in the cockpit cupholder, self inflicted I may add. Does anyone have any ideas where I might find this? I looked on F/P but did not see anything. As you can see, its not very visable, just annoying.
Thanks
BrianBrian

Re: cockpit cupholder
If you have a plastics manufacturer near you they could whip that out in no time. Take yours in so they can use it as a model.

Re: cockpit cupholder
If you can't find one ,
I would ask Nehalennia or Somesailor if they could cut one from a sheet of burl wood.

Re: cockpit cupholder
Thanks for the responses. I have thought about Gorilla glue. I also have thought about stainless but the admiral thinks it would be too hot. I am trying to stay away from the wood and teak thing as I swore I wouldnt have any wood exosed after the 88 WE.
I am not so sure Sea Ray could help at this point in time either as far as parts go.Brian

Re: cockpit cupholder
SS won't really be hot. It's pretty much only hot if something lays on top of it. Otherwise, it's pretty close to ambient. Feel your cleats or your bow rail - you'll see what I mean.
For what it's worth, it appears the plastic drink holder you have is no longer available. But, starting somewhere mid-year in 2004, they started using the 3-ring SS version. That version is available - I think it uses the same holes, but I'm not 100% positive. Maybe someone with a newer 280DA could measure the distance from hole to hole for you. Although, the same one was used in other models, you'd just need to verify the hole-to-hole.
However, having one of the guys above make one would probably be the sweetest way to go. Whatever they make would be REALLY nice.Dennis
