sea ray navigator replacement ?
had some false readings from my sea ray navigator as far as depth reporting goes. am thinking of replacing it with a new chart plotter. also i noticed that the mercury smart craft receives some of its information from the navigator (depth) as an example can i make the smart craft free standing and do they have updates for the mercury (mine is a 2003) would like a brighter screen. what is the difference in the raymarine c & e series? bob!

Re: sea ray navigator replacement ?
bob, How much of a depth error are you seeing? If it appears to be a relatively constant amount it might be the programmed offsets.
If you decide to replace your SRN, I might be interested in purchasing it if it is working.
Good luck, Art

Re: sea ray navigator replacement ?
we were boating up in the north channel in about 100 ' of water, then all of a sudden it shows 3'. the bad thing is that my mercury smart craft and raymarine rl80c chart plotter all get their depth feeds from this unit. other than that it works fine. we have a 2003 390 motor yacht and will probably replace it over the winter. bob!

Well, I got out today. The Admiral stayed home, still building her strength back up after the op. But had a friend who's wife was away for the weekend, so he came for a run out. This is the last...
