Until recently I have been looking for a 410SD w/ diesels. Along the way I've come across a couple of 420ACs that have caught my attention. Obviously the additional space is enticing, but I would appreciate getting (any) objective feedback about this model - good or not so good.
Have owned Gimme Time since August 2007 and must say it has been a great boat for us. AC give you more usable square footage than any other style that we considered. Our first boat above a 21 footer and with the diesel engines and large wheels you want a much easier boat to handle IMHO. With the large aft deck area and the bridge area you can have lots of people on board sitting down and still have lots of room. When you have bad weather the inside salon is large enough to handle almost anything.
Other than a tight engine room which is the case with most boats except single engine trawlers here are my only small issues.
1. Aft stateroom has a closet on Port side that cuts into the admirals side of the berth.
2. AC unit for aft stateroom is under the floor panel in the same closet and tight access would be considered an understatement if/when you need to work on that unit but it can and has been done but you better have a friend for a snake to get to it.
3. Wife would like AC on the bridge and if you want to spend the money you can still get it but I have chosen not to.
Great boat and don't think we could have asked for the money a better boat. Problaby will be our only unless/untill retirement time to a trawler possibly. Any questions, feel free to PM me.
