Odd Westerbeke issue, coolant expansion tank, no flow
This Past weekend, after running the genset for abou 30 minutes, I noticed a few drops of pink coolant in the bilge. Came to find the overflow line to the tank got brittle (14 years old) and broke under the zip tie.
I went to replace the hose tonight, attached to engine, and got ready to pull off the coolant tank, ready for a little leak as I swapped hoses.
Pulled it, and nothing. The coolant tank is to the max line, no fluid comes out. I look closer, and find the little connection point on the bottom has NO HOLE in it. Since 1998, there has never been any coolant flowing between the tank and engine. Thank god it only has 52 hours on it.
Does anyone have a tank laying around to tell me what size hole I can drill in it to make this work as intended.
Also -- what coolant should I use? How full should the filling be on the engine...
I can't believe it's been like this since build. Crazy.
