Would This Ruin Your Day?
This sucks. We came down to the marina today and saw this. The owner had just filled up for a trip to Astoria for a fishing trip and was cleaning her up. He said he had some water in the bilge and vac'ed it out thinking it was his shafts leaking. When he was done the sfats were dry. He then noticed some water coming from his underwater exhust. He went to tighten the clamp and it broke and the boat started to fill with water. No one was around to help and soon it over came the pumps. It is a Glas Ply. Sad. They are working tro refloat it and get it out of the water.

Re: Would This Ruin Your Day?
When we came back we founf they had refloated it. The used two 4" inch pumps. In talking with the salvage crew the owner was tring to find a trailer to get it out of the water. I told them I had a trailer that would hold this boat, so 45 minutes later I had my Sea Ray trailer down the ramp and pulled her out. Pulling it up the ramp it was very heavy. They told me that the boat still had quite a bit of water in her. When you picked up a cusion it weighed a lot. I loan the trailer to the owner for a few weeks while he gets his insurance claim situated. Besides I wasn't using it anyway. He thinks he is just going to give it to the insurance company as he didn't want a boat that had been under water. Just glad the Admiral and I could help. Pay it back.......

Re: Would This Ruin Your Day?
That's a horrible sight! What amazes me is how they can pump water out of a boat that is sitting on the bottom of a large body of water.

Re: Would This Ruin Your Day?
Lending your trailor may seem like a small thing but I guarantee the owner very much appreciated it.
Props to you for stepping up and helping.

Re: Would This Ruin Your Day?
was wondering that too - you need to be creating air spaces.......
Makes me think of that pilot saying about landings=takeoffs.... something about water belonging outside, not inside maybe...
Good work lending your trailer. I'm not sure if it is a CSR thing, a USA thing, a "successful people" thing or just a boating thing, but the people on here seem to be of a very generous nature - not sure you'd always get that sort of generosity over here. Not because people are tight, but often far less willing to make themselves known when something is going wrong, perhaps unwilling to "intrude"?

Re: Would This Ruin Your Day?
I guess the good thing is that it happened in the slip, not out on their fishing trip.

Reason I asked is on iBoats.com forum, when asked about the Regal 2760/Sundancer 270 having the T4.3L V6, some people say sometimes planning takes times, and when loaded it might not perform great. :)
