Cabin door adjustment 2007 DA

I am looking for the secret (sequence) to adjusting my cabin door. Sometimes I can barely get it to move and when it does slide it does not slide smoothly. It will intermittently grab onto the track preventing it from opening easily. I know there are 4 screws on top of the door---just not sure if they are for adjustments. Many thanks

The four screws on top keep the nylon trucks attached (trucks = the nylon devices that slide across the track). I don't recommend adjusting those screws because it will be nearly impossible to re-attach them if they come loose and doing so won't affect your sticking door. What has likely happened is the roller on the bottom track is misaligned or there is dirt in the track, or both....probably just dirty though. Worst case scenario is that you have a broken truck on top or broken roller on the bottom -- in either case you need to have the dealer replace them which often involves removing the helm. Not always, the dealer was able to replace the trucks on my 280 without major issues.

Start by cleaning the top and bottom track thoroughly. My 280 had a door under the steering wheel that allowed access to the track behind the helm and I think this is the same for your 260. This area can collect a lot of dirt and leaves. I would spray this area with a hose while the cabin door was shut then dry it thoroughly. Once the tracks are clean and dry, spray them with a Teflon spray to keep them lubricated (available at Lowe's or Home Depot). Teflon dries dry and won't collect dirt and grime the way that WD-40 and grease will.

What happened with mine was the nylon pads on the top wore down a bit where they rest on the rails in the track and then the nylock nuts in them started rubbing on the aluminum track and binding up. You could see where the stainless nut was digging into the aluminum, of course the stainless wins that battle. I took the nylon pieces off (didnt have any problems taking them off or putting them back on) and ground down the edges of the nuts where they were rubbing and now its smooth as glass. I was going to see if I could buy those upper nylon pieces but I dont see them in the parts catalog and havent went to dealer to see if they are available - I assume they are. The lower tracks on mine looked fine, even though there was a ton of crud in there, took a few times to get that cleared out.
