Sos iac help needed now
We just removed the IAC valve and found no filter. Removed the other one that had been replaces by certified mercruiser mech and no filter This is an 8.1 2004 370hp MPI Horizon. Is it possible there is no filter? Need answer ASAP.
Thanks

Re: Sos iac help needed now
Not sure on the 8.1, but the small filter is pushed into the throttle body. Take off your flame arrestor to see it

Thanks. Removed the flame arrester on the throttle body and found filter. Very dirty. All black. Replaced the other one on the starboard engine also.

Re: Sos iac help needed now
Dirty filters can cause the IAC's to fail prematurely.

Re: Sos iac help needed now
I have been replacing IAC filter in fall when cleaning flame arrestor as part of winterization - they cost about a $1.00 each.
