    Marina in Sneads Ferry

Can anyone suggest a good Marina that they have experience with in the Sneads Ferry area?

There are a couple of us at Harbor Village in Hampstead. It is very clean and a great group of people. I moved down from NH about 4 months ago and have been very happy. They have gas, clean docks, and is a good hurricane hole. Access to the ICW is great as well as getting outside Topsail. Let me know if you want any more details.

Ditto, not any really nice marinas in Sneads Ferry. Great fuel prices though

I was hoping to find something closer to home. We just moved to Sneads Ferry but I am deployed right now so I can't just run up the road and take a look. I have a slip 28x12 behind the house for the 180CC but the admiral wants 330 EC that won't fit. Who am I to argue.

There are 2 decent ones in Swansboro but I can't remember which one has the nicer wet slips. One is Dudleys, the other is Caspers. Both are just north of the base on the ICW.

Look at Active Captain: https://activecaptain.com/X.php. You can scroll around a map and see the marinas that are in the system. There are two marinas operated by Camp Lejuene: http://www.mccslejeune.com/marinas/index.html, one at Courthouse Bay just across the river from Sneads Ferry and another one up at Mainside. Super low prices but I'm guessing there's a waiting list.

    Re: Marina in Sneads Ferry

I'm not sure if they can hold a 330 or not but Old Ferry marina is a decent place and the owners were very nice to talk with each time we went to check the place out. The others in the area are more known for their fuel pricing than their dockage because its very limited.

Harbour Village in Hampstead is a very nice marina in a horrible location. There is nearly nothing close by to do by water other than run the ditch and the nearest safely navigable inlet is a long haul. (new topsail has been better recently tho) Plus, IMO, the dockmaster Mike has absolutely no personality and is very unreliable but then again that was 4 years ago when I was there. Has the nightlife on the docks gotten any better? 4 years ago it was a ghost town when the sun went down.

Otherwise, your only other options are up north in Swansboro or farther south...

I used to own the boat in that picture up there ^

Looks like I am going to go with the Marina on base. Courthouse Bay is the closest to my house and prices are really good. Will let you know once we move in to see how it is. I know it doesn't have the normal Marina lifestyle but it is close to home and dirt cheap.
