    Hi-Tek SS manifolds ordered

I just placed my order for the Hi-Tek Stainless Steel manifolds for my 2007 230 Select 350 mag. I bought the boat used last year with just 30 hours on her. I have put 65 hours on the boat flushing with salt away after every outing and the factory risers and manifolds have to be replaced. I am somewhat disappointed that with only 95 hours I am having to do this. The engine has the dry joint manifolds and the OEM parts are $1500. I thought for another $500.00 I would try the Stainless version. I have spoken to a couple of you that have used these. My question is to anyone else that have used these, How long have you had them and do you like them or would you buy them again? Thanks!!

I've only had them for 6+ months but no issues so far (knock on wood). They are much lighter than OEM but with twin motors they were a pain to install. I boat 100% in saltwater so I thought I would give them a try. Only time will tell.

Bucit, based on your purchase, I was considering the same this off-season. What made them more of a pain to install? Seeing as we have the same setups, I'm curious!

And I didn't realize they were +$500 per pair over OEM...

OEM style has long bolts that you can easily get to the head to tighten because they are right there in front of you, the Hi Tek's are underneath the manifold (very short) and it's a pain to get some started and to get a socket on them. No way to get a torque wrench in there so I tightened them, ran it for awhile to heat everything up them re-tightened them. I listened for any type of leak and everything sounded good and has been this way since install.

How did you determine the risers and manifolds had to be replaced??

Boat started to overheat. I had my mechanic come in and he inspected and the manifolds are starting to plug up with rust causing poor circulation at idle speeds resulting in overheating

I'm on my second season with the hi-tek manifolds, no complaints and no issues.

This might be a good idea when my oem's go. How hard was the interface with the stock exhaust system
