My BW takes 3 quarts each to fill....

I'll check the plaque tomorrow before I buy my supplies...

So there is no better choice for ATF?

    Don,

it doesn't matter.......bot hole end up drawing from the bottom of the gear case. If you are anal about getting all the oil out, there is a pipe plug right at the bottom that will completely drain all the oil. The trick is how to catch it under the transmission.

So if you're anal about this, you will install a drain pipe on the bottom plug? I know someone that did that........Thanks.

Or slide one of those plastic soft margarine tubs under the drain plug after sucking all you can get out of the filter hole. You will get about a quarter of the tub filled. only if your anal about this kind of stuff though. Hint: you got to cut the tub down a little for the port tranny

My manual says use Dex III. Been using IV for 8 years. All labs come back normal.

Jason, In my Borg's I used the Valvoline Dexron lll, but in the 340 Hurth's I'm sticking with the Wolf Head Dextron that Brad over at Marine Discount Sandusky put in the new Trany last year. I just changed out and it looks brand new but to be sure I just sent it out to have it checked.
