Hey!
Hi all,
I acquired a 1989 Sundancer 268 DA about two years ago. Inside, hull, and engine were in excellent shape. Out drive, well, it worked for a while. Now that we've used the boat plenty and really like it I decided to fix it up with a new group and outdrive.
I've seen this site for a while, so figured I'd join now that it looks like I'm keeping the boat for a while!

Re: Hey!
I have a lot of fond memories of our 1989 268 with the same engine/drive package - Arctic White with Green Striping. Sorry to hear that you're drive had to be replaced. Was it a Bravo? They're pretty tough, or so I thought.

Re: Hey!
Yeah it was a bravo I. I'm sure the outdrive itself would have lasted longer, but I found out the previous owner painted it with bottom paint - in multiple layers. It was well disguised until chunks of material started falling off. It actually still physically works, but the real problem here was the engine coupler went on our labor day trip to the keys. The inner part fuzed onto the drive shaft, so I had to get it cut to remove the outdrive for repair. After looking at the serious corrosion I just decided to get a new one. I bought a new magnum transom group and new take-off bravo I from a local dealer. They have the engine pulled now and are checking it all out before bolting it all back on. I need to go by and take some close ups of the old outdrive to show how bad it was! I really am surprised it didn't just disintegrate under load.

Hey guys, looking for some input on repairing the bow hatch open/close mechanism. A frustrated child tried to close the hatch while it was open with the thumb screws tighted to keep it open. One of...
