Re: Talk me down Man! Talk me down!!

Thanks for the thoughts everyone, I appreciate. Day three and the side effects are still considerable. I ended up sleeping most of the afternoon away, if it doesn't get better in the next couple days, I'll have to seek something different, as I can't function at all this way.

If we can help let me know. Still in our prayers.

Man!!! This is me EVERY FRIGGIN DAY. Especially when I'm taking my family and friends out on the water. I just get real nervous and worrisome when out on the water. I literally have to drink one ice cold Heineken to calm my nerves. I'm not afraid of the water or anything like that...Anybody else like this, particularly around the water?

    Scott,
Hope there is an alternative med that has less side affects. I see/hear the cymbalta commercials on tv, but I never paid attention to them. Thought they were just another kind of little blue pill. My best to you.

Good luck to you Scott. Hopefully you're on the downhill side by now.

Sort of. I get nervous prior to and at the start of the outing that something is going to break on the boat. After a while I calm down and forget about it. When I dock back into the slip after the outing, I am so charged up that I just want to go right back out again. Then the cycle starts again when I plan to go out on another day...

Scott, I hope today is better for you.

Re: Talk me down Man! Talk me down!!

Thanks everyone, I have successfully gotten out of bed and made it to the boat today. I am helping my slip neighbor winterize his boat, so hopefully I can function well enough to be of assistance. Still not feeling right, but maybe better than yesterday. Let's hope anyway....

Have a great day and GO Colts!

    Scott,
My wife took Cymbalta for one day and could not tolerate the somewhat haulucinatory side effects and threw the remaining pills in the trash. I am not a doctor, but a medicine that was originally developed to treat depression and then discovered to be a good pain reliever would not be my first choice for a pain reliever. There are other pain relievers on the market that might work better for you.

Maybe that's why you are not a doctor! It is called multi modal pain management. Using mult-modal pain management can actually allow for lower doses of medications and more effective pain relief. There are many different kinds of pain and some types require drugs like Cymbalta to help control the pain. If Scott was getting relief from narcotics (morphine, oxycodone, etc) they would not have to try this.

Scott, we all support you but please get your medical advice from professionals. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Hope you get better soon.
