Re: new camper top
In all fairness I don't think any color canvas "hides" stains or dirt better than another and I have had both. Dark colors show white bird poo and dust worse when not cleaned while they mask the black stains from spider poo that can be nearly impossible to get out of a lighter color no matter how much you clean it. Either way if you don't clean the canvas, it will look like crap.

Re: new camper top
Yes, I'm in Sudbury, Ont. (profile edited).
Purchased the boat in Kingston, Ont. , so we're having the top done in Kingston, where we purchased the boat, before we ship it to Sudbury next Spring.

Re: new camper top
For what its worth, I live in Northern Michigan and I opted for black canvas on my '96 370 DA. Does it make the cockpit warmer than the tan/toast yes. However, that added heat is nice on cool spring and fall days and you cant beat the look of clean black canvas. IMO

Re: new camper top
Thanks Grayzone...I spent 4 1/2 years living in Sudbury. I worked at Mix 105 that became EZ Rock. I take it the boat will be on the island.
I posted a thread a while ago in the Pictures Video section with the camper replacement on our 370. Take a look, it may give you some ideas. http://clubsearay.com/showthread.php...acement-custom

Re: new camper top
I live in a warm climate, and haven't noticed any difference. I've had both colors. My current boat has black canvas installed by the previous owner. Most light enters through the windshield and front plastic anyway, so darkening is not an issue.

Re: new camper top
I just replaced my beige sling back with black camper last month and I'm a Fl resident. In Fl there is no getting away from the heat regardless of color. More importantly give considerable thought to screening (I have sun screen all around), consider openings (zippered openings cut into the glass) I have 3 across the bow, one ea foward and aft port and starboard and of course the transom glass can be rolled up.
Also consider the height of the canvas at the transom (I did not want a severe pitch from the arch to the aft bracket...and give thought if you want the camper to extent the full beam in the aft or to the inside of the aft area...
And...determine the best method for "climbing thru" the aft camper to get out to the bow...
Hope this stirs some thought.....
