New Speaker Locations? 97 175
Current speaker locations are up under the dash. I took out the tape deck and the terrible sounding factory speakers and installed a new headunit and speakers. While the sound quanlity has improved substantially the factory speaker mounting location is terrible as the speakers fire down right into the floor. I need to get them positioned to fire out into the boat as well as add an additional pair somewhere towards the rear of the boat. Any ideas on mounting locations? Pictures of your speaker locations? I am going to eventually add a small (8") sub for a little low end punch...was thinking of putting that in a box underneath the front seats. Any ideas?

Thanks, Josh

I have the same boat and I'm looking to add a few speakers in the back of the boat. My factory speakers were replaced by Bose 131's by a previous owner, but they are not enough. When I open up the throttle I can't hear the music for $hit.
Down here in Texas we still have another month or so of boating weather. I'm going to get mine out this weekend and find a place to add two speakers in the back of the boat. I'll let you know what I find.Current Boat: Sea Ray 175
Currently In The Market For: 240-280 Sundancer
Previous Boat (when I was a teenager): 1987 Sea Ray Seville 19'

Re: New Speaker Locations? 97 175
Had to put the boat away for the winter a couple of weeks ago. We have already had a couple days of light snow here in MT. However, tomorrow it is supposed to get back up to 70....fall in the rockies. I was thinking you could put a baffle up under the gunwale towards the rear of the boat (similar to how the front speakers are mounted) but then again the speakers are firing down and not out. Keep me posted on any ideas you come up with. I might have some time to tinker in the boat this weekend and see if I can come up with some ideas.
Thanks, Josh
