84 245 quadrajet and distributor question

Hey guys i was wandering if someone could help me out by posting a picture of the Distributor vaccume advance vaccume hose and where it goes on the carb. Or is this this the right set up for this boat or did the previous owner just throw it together? I do not have a vacume port on my Qjet to facilitate the vaccume advance on the distrib. could someone help me.

Boat distributors do not have vacuum advance. If yours does someone installed a car distributor in your boat. The spark advance in boat engine must be dictated by rpm and not engine vacuum. The Q Jet does not have a vacuum port for that reason. Find a good aftermarket electronic distributor and you will be rewarded with a better running engine and better fuel economy.

There are several makes of aftermarket electronic distributors. Google/Ebay are you friends. Delco HEI Marine distributors are probably the best. Put Delco HEI Marine in the search functions and you'll learn all about them.
